From day one, VNHM has been closely involved in the creation and development of Depot 44 — a unique sports and lifestyle destination built on the grounds of a former military airbase.

As the project’s official digital partner, we were responsible for everything from branding and web design to the full digital strategy and the creation of Depot 44 Connect, the digital backbone of the entire ecosystem.

Our goal was to translate the strong identity of the location into a modern, sporty, and connected brand that reflects both the history and the future of Depot 44. 

Challenge

  1. Preserve the soul of the military site while creating a modern, sporty identity. 
    The challenge was to find the right balance between the site’s authentic, industrial character and the fresh, dynamic atmosphere that defines the new Depot 44 brand.
  2. Build a fully connected digital experience. 
    Depot 44 needed a digital infrastructure where everything comes together — from website and bookings to management systems and customer portals.
  3. Centralize all operations into one smart system. 
    The goal was to give the management team a complete overview of everything happening within Depot 44 — from occupancy rates and bookings to financial insights and user activity.

The Solution

  1. Branding & Design 
    We designed a visual identity that combines modern sportiness with the authentic feel of the site’s past. Using elements like a stencil-inspired typeface and robust, minimalist visuals, the branding bridges the gap between heritage and innovation.
  2. Digital Ecosystem & Website 
    The new Depot 44 website serves as the central digital hub, connecting all user flows — from sports bookings and event management to accessing the Depot 44 Connect portal. Every touchpoint was designed to offer clarity, simplicity and a seamless user experience.
  3. Depot 44 Connect — The Digital Core 
    We built a custom software platform structured across three functional layers: 

    1. Admin Portal: for Depot 44 management to monitor all operations — bookings, occupancy, and revenue — in real time. 

    2. Tenant CRM: enabling tenants to manage their own businesses within Depot 44, complete with automation, invoicing, and Peppol integration

    3. Customer Portals: giving end users and members full digital access to their bookings, invoices and documents — all in one place.

This structure ensures that every stakeholder, from management to visitors, interacts within one cohesive digital environment.
